Learning by Doing

middle school

Education is a natural process carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words, but by experiences in the environment. — Maria Montessori

Pacific Crest provides students with opportunities to engage in work that is real and relevant and serves a need in the school or community. Occupations include services to the school and others, managing student activities and conducting businesses. A few of the options which students choose from include mentoring younger students, working at a food bank, selling produce at the farm stand or designing and selling greeting cards. All of these activities are organized and run by the students.

Physical Education

PE incorporates fitness, the Pacific Crest Mile, and sports alternating throughout the seasons of the year, including a winter Ski program at Crystal Mountain.

A great work must be undertaken. —Maria Montessori
