The art studio is at the heart of the middle school, offering all students the chance to explore their own ideas, think visually and work in a variety of media. Students may choose to spend their free work periods in the art studio. Students present their work to the school community through regular art shows in the central art gallery. Students have also participated in the creation of public art throughout our neighborhood, including murals at the History House and the Ross Park Community building.
An annual theater production offers all students the opportunity to participate as actors, assistants to the director, stage and costume designers, sound and light engineers and musical accompanists.
A vibrant writer’s workshop program produces inspired authors with experiences in a wide variety of genres. Students publish a literary journal as well as contribute regularly to the school newsletter and participate in a poetry night reading series.
