Going Out

goingout

Small group outings are the cornerstone of elementary education. These are trips that small groups of children take outside the classroom in order to obtain more information on a topic or to meet a classroom need. Students independently plan, organize and execute these outings and thus develop practical life skills. The particular prompts for his going out may be many and varied — arising from his own unique research endeavors or simple needs of the classroom, but the ultimate aim is to ensure that the child goes out and explores that which cannot be experienced within the classroom.
